Movie posters and films are great sources of inspiration for graphic designers. With the success of Tron Legacy and its awesome light effects, we have seen several tutorials on how to realize these effects in Photoshop. Today I decided to reproduce the logo of one of my favorite film series: Pirates of the Caribbean. We are going to see the 4th chapter to the cinema, so let’s celebrate captain Jack Sparrow and his friends with this cool photo manipulation!
Today I’m going to explain how to realize a retro cd cover in Photoshop. We will photo-manipulate a sunset scene, then we will combine other elements like textures and vector resources to finalize the composition. At the end I will show you how to apply the final design to a cd case mock-up template.
48×48 pixels is the standard size of icons destined to web design projects, along with 32×32 and 16×16 pixels. While to create icons of larger size allow designers to add lots of details and realize realistic illustrations, i.e. 512×512 pixels icons, 48 pixels of width and height oblige icon designers to “simplify” the illustration. Today I gonna show you how to realize an awesome small icon of a graphic tablet. We will start by studying a real tablet, we will understand which are the fundamental details and shapes to re-create into the small icon, and finally I will drive you through the Photoshop steps necessary to realize the icon.
In this tutorial I will explain how to realize funny letters that look like broken plates. We will start in Illustrator modifying the original font, then we will switch to Photoshop in order to play with textures and layer styles. Also we will deal with selection tools and simple methods to create 3d illusion always in Photoshop.
Today I gonna show you how to realize from scratch a ghostly scene in few steps. We will use a couple of stock photos and modify them so they will look harmoniously combined. In particular we will deal with the burn tool, layer masks and some Photoshop filters often overlooked.
Today we will learn how to realize a folded paper text effect from scratch in Photoshop. We will firstly create the background using a couple of patterns, then we will work on the type treatment with the help of the pen tool, layer masks and other useful techniques related to dodge, burn and the transform tool. This tutorial is very simple to follow, so I suggest to everyone to give a try.
Many of you have asked me if it is possible to open and use our vector resources (.ai and .eps files) in Photoshop. Well, it is, even if with evident limits. In this brief tutorial I’ll show you how to manage vectors using Photoshop and which are the advantages of using a vector software like Illustrator to work with these kind of files.
In this tutorial I’ll show you how to create from scratch abstract light effects in Photoshop, how to turn them in a custom Photoshop brushes and finally how to use them to add lights and vividness to your images just with few clicks. You will learn some useful techniques related to brushes, and you will understand how they can make your (graphic design) life easier.
Here at WeGraphics we are working hard on a new project. I can’t reveal too much for the moment, but I can anticipate you that a new awesome t-shirt brand is coming to life…I’m personally designing 10 tee graphics for the first collection and the style is the WeGraphics one: strong, expressive and with a touch of dirty!
After studied in the last months some techniques related to t-shirt design, which was difficult for me to deal with since I love complex digital photo-manipulations, today I want to share with you what I’ve learned. We will create together a stylized portrait of a blindfolded lady, using some of our resources and …
