    Thanks very much, it has come at a time when I was really looking for a jQuery Slider like this : )

  4. Does this Slider will support any kind of HTML content or images only?

    • Hi Dustin, I put this slider together with the intention of sliding images only, but you could probably modify it to support other HTML elements as well.

    Nice little slider. It’s extremely easy to implement. Thanks a ton. Great work.

    This one seems to be a little buggy. From what I can tell, the first frame holds for double time, the auto scroll stops intermittently and, worst of all, if left open in another tab for a while, the scroll time reduces to a tiny fraction, making it all ‘bug out.’

    My Jquery knowledge is terrible, but does anyone have an idea what could be causing this?

    • WB

      The script certainly has a bug connected to the “animation queue buildup”.

      To solve this, you must change line nr 23 in the jquery.wgslider.js file.
      From this:
      }, 500 );
      to this:
      }, {queue:false, duration:500} );

      I didn’t noticed the problem described as “the first frame holds for double time” – in my case all frames change after 4 seconds. However, the slider stops sliding frames if it’s hovered by mouse cursor.

      The slider works with Chrome (v.25), FF (v.19), Opera (v.12) and Safari (v.5.1.7). On the IE (7,8,9) slider is displayed with error (frames are shifted). To overcome this problem you should make changes in the styles.css in the line number 20.
      From this:
      .slideimages img {float: left;}
      to this:
      .slideimages img {float: left;
      border-top-width: 0px;
      border-right-width: 0px;
      border-bottom-width: 0px;
      border-left-width: 0px;
      }

      Cheers!

  9. Thanks so much for the simplest slider code on the web. I don’t know a ton about HTML but enough to make something look good. Call me a hack. This code was a lifesaver because I dont know enough to impliment other solutions.
    You really helped out the struggling or lazy web coder.

  10. good work. thanks

  11. Tony

    is there a way we can add captions to each picture

  12. SweFunc

    I do have some trouble with the timer on the slider, atleast i think so.

    From time to time it flipps out and starts rushing though the images. Otherwise an awesome product. Simple and easy to install, just as amatures like myself want it :D

      I withdraw my comment, just read though the other posts xD Seems like that did the trick.

    Hey, thank you, this is a great little slide show! One question though, I have very little experience with js, but I am trying to use this slide show on my page 3 times for different images. It seems to be working fine for one, but if I include another slideshow with a different amount of images they will link up and the one with less images will show black while the other one shows their images. Is there a way to disconnect them? I tried uploading the js file twice and using different names but it didn’t work. I also tried this:

    $(window).load(function() {
    $(‘#container1′).active();
    $(‘#container2′).active();
    });

    But they still link up completely. Any ideas? I really know very little (sorry!).

    Nice , works well in Chrome and Mozilla.
    In IE the last slide is not appearing .
    Any issue with browser ?

  16. AnupKalathil

    Sorry , I got the answer – explained already -
    change styles.css – in the line number 20.
    From this:
    .slideimages img {float: left;}
    to this:
    .slideimages img {float: left;
    border-top-width: 0px;
    border-right-width: 0px;
    border-bottom-width: 0px;
    border-left-width: 0px;
    }

  17. Urzel
