The right pattern can be the graphical element that will enhance your site design. Instead of using flat colors to fill the background, I generally prefer to play with small tileable patterns. In this way I can add a textured effect (that I love!) to the site, along with obtaining quick page loads. Patterns are very small elements, and once created, can fill the site background with a simple css property. In this tutorial I will show you how to create patterns from scratch, and how to make them stand out in your next design.

Every week the design community releases a lot of interesting articles, tutorials and showcases that can charge your creativity in different ways. With this series we want to share high-quality contents from the community to provide interesting information for our readers. It’s just a small selection, but we are sure that it can help you to find cool stuff that covers a wide variety of topics.
I graduated from the Art Institute back in 2000, and set out into the world to become a Graphic Designer. But what I found was that no employer cared where I went to school or what degree I held. They were only interested in my design experience and what my portfolio contained. Since I had no real world experience, my portfolio contained very little professional examples of my work, only personal or student projects.
Today we will take a break from the ordinary stuff and go into a fantasy world. Learn how to build up your own micro society using many different pictures and some cool photo manipulation techniques.

After 2 months of hard work, we finally launched the new design! Our Twitter and Facebook followers may have heard we were working to refresh WeGraphics interface. We published some sneak peeks on Dribbble too. Today I want to explain the motivations behind this new look and why it will rock!
I’d like to purpose a little experiment to the WeGraphics Community. As part of our weekly wallpaper downloads, I’d like to create a design that is a collaborative effort among our users.
